In the Communication Center, contacts are divided into different types.
| Icon | Contact Type | Description |
| Member | Contact who is also a Petal user. Information about this contact is linked to their Petal account. | |
| Person | Contact without a Petal account. | |
| Department | An entity inside your health institution. Selecting a department allows you to send communications to this entity as a whole instead of a specific contact. | |
| Contact Group | List of contact numbers linked to existing contacts of various types. Selecting a contact group allows you to send communications - often linked to emergency procedures - to multiple recipients at once. | |
| Procedure | List of contact numbers linked to devices shared by the members of a group. Selecting a procedure allows you to send communications to multiple devices at once. |
