You can offer your shift to a healthcare professional and then take one of the healthcare professional’s shifts in return.
For you to be able to trade a shift, the shift must meet these criteria:
- The shift belongs to you and appears in your calendar.
- The healthcare professional with whom you want to trade the shift has the same skill set as you.
- The shift has the necessary settings. For example, you can trade a surgery shift if it has the Trade and Transfer setting.
Web app
- In the side menu, select Calendars
. Your calendar opens.
- Select the shift to transfer. The Shift details window appears.
- Select Trade. The Trade a shift window opens displaying members who have the matching skill set.
- Select a member and then select Continue.
- Under Trade for, select Pick a shift in return (mandatory). A calendar appears.
- Choose a date that has a shift. A blue date indicates that a shift is available on that date.
- Select the shift and then select Continue.
- (Optional) In Comment on the offer, add information.
- Select Send.
- Do one of these steps:
- Select Yes to send the trade request to the healthcare professional and to wait for the response.
- Select No to send the trade request to the healthcare professional. You do not have to wait for a response.
Accepted shift trade appear in Shift Trades, under History.
Note: You can withdraw an offer for a pending trade. On the Shift details window, select Withdraw offer.
Mobile app
- Tap a shift and then tap Schedule change.
- Tap Yes to offer your shift for trade.
- Under Select recipients for the shift, search for a person if the person’s name does not appear.
- Tap the person’s name and then tap Next.
- Do one of these steps:
- To trade a specific shift, tap the shift you want.
- To trade without picking a specific shift, tap Skip selecting a shift. The recipient chooses the shift to offer you in exchange.
- (Optional) Under Summary, in Add a note, type any additional information.
- Tap Send. The person receives a notification about the trade request.
