As a planner, you can configure shift properties to control how members and planners manage shifts for a group calendar.
For each group calendar, you can define if a shift can be traded or transferred, split, added by a member, processed, etc.
Note: To configure shift properties, you need access to the group calendar.
- In the left menu, select Scheduling
and then select Shifts.
The Shifts tab displays active and future shifts for the selected group. - Select the Configuration tab. A configuration matrix appears.

to select which columns to display.
- To find a shift, enter the shift name in Search for a shift.
- Select Edit.
- For each shift, select or clear the properties you want to apply.
- Trade and transfer: Members can trade or transfer shifts.
- Splittable by planner: Planners can split a shift into two parts from the planning tool. For example, if a member is unavailable for part of an on-call shift, the shift can be split between two members.
- Splittable by member: Members can transfer part of a shift. A shift can only be split into two parts.
- Assignable by member: Members can self-assign this shift from their calendar.
- Unassignable by member: Members can remove this shift from their calendar.
- Approval required: Changes to the shift require third-party approval.
- Processing required: Changes to the shift require third-party processing.
- Pre-execution: Processing occurs after the change is approved.
- Post-execution: Processing occurs after the change is completed.
- Select Save.
