After you create a period, you can edit some period settings. The settings that you can edit depend on the state of the period and your Petal plan.
You must contact Petal technical support if you need to make any of these changes:
- Add, remove, or edit holidays that occur during the period
- Modify the period dates
- Delete a period
- Add an additional draft period if you have already created two draft periods
- In the side menu, select Scheduling
.
- (Optional) If you are a member of more than one group, select the group that contains the period you want to edit from the groups list.
- Select the Periods tab.
- Select Current periods or Past periods, and locate the period you want to edit.
- Select Edit.
- In Edit period, make any of the following changes:
- Update the Period name. To help create a unique name, you can add the year.
This is the only setting that groups on the Petal Basic plan can change. - Update the Absence entry deadline. Enter the deadline for your schedule group members to submit their absences. Group members are automatically prevented from submitting absence requests after this date.
- Select Send a reminder one week prior to the absence entry deadline to send an email reminder to group members one week before the absence submission deadline, or clear the option to prevent the reminder from being sent.
- Select Send a reminder one day prior to the absence entry deadline to send an email reminder to group members one day before the absence submission deadline, or clear the option to prevent the reminder from being sent.
- Update the Period name. To help create a unique name, you can add the year.
Select Save.
When you save changes to the absence entry deadline the system follows these rules:
- If the new deadline is already in the past, absence entry is locked immediately.
- If the new deadline is the current date or a future date, the absence entry is unlocked immediately.
- If a planner turned on the Absence entry allowed toggle on the Periods page after the system automatically locked the period, the system does not automatically lock absence entry again.
- If a planner turned off the Absence entry allowed toggle on the Periods page, the system never enables absence entry automatically.
