When a planner posts an Open or Shortage shift on Marketplace, multiple members can request it. When multiple members request the same shift, this situation is known as Piling up of requests.
The planner sees the members who requested the shift, reviews the requests, and chooses who gets the shift. The planner can also cancel (withdraw) the Marketplace shift at any time.
For Trade-only shifts or Trade-or-Transfer shifts, the initial member assigned to the shift receives incoming requests. This member chooses who gets the shift and accepts the shift trade.
For Transfer-only shifts, the planner receives incoming requests, chooses the members, and approves the transfer.
Important: To activate Piling up of requests on Marketplace, the planner must turn on the Approval Required setting. To turn on this setting, in the side menu, select Shifts and then select Configuration.
- In the side menu, select Scheduling
.
- In the left side menu, select Shift trades.
- In Pending requests, locate a Marketplace request.
- In the Actions column, select View X responses. X represents the total number of people who are volunteering for the shift.
- In Assign an open shift, under Volunteers, choose members.
The members are listed in order of the time at which they requested the shift. Under the name of each member, the date and time on which the member requested the shift appears.
Note: You cannot choose more than the maximum number of resources required. You can, however, choose less than the minimum number of resources required. For example, if the minimum number of resources is three, you can choose one resource. - Select Confirm Assignment.
The selected members receive an approval notification. They are assigned to the shift. The non-selected members receive a notification that the shift no longer exists. The shift disappears from Marketplace.
Note: Once you confirm the assignment, the assignment is final; you cannot change it. Furthermore, you cannot assign additional members to the Open shift through Marketplace.
