Timely communication with on-call medical staff is crucial for efficient patient care.
Use the Console on the Petal mobile app to find an on-call healthcare provider in your hospital who is currently working in a particular department. Then, contact the healthcare provider by using the healthcare provider’s preferred method of communication (for example, secure messaging or telephone).

Shifts appear with detailed information such as the healthcare provider, group, and type of shift. - Type the name of the shift that you want to see. The search results appear displaying current shifts.
Note: Search results are divided by horizontal separators. Separators group the shifts according to certain criteria such as location, type, etc. Your hospital administrator configures the order in which shifts appear and the separators. - Tap a shift.
The name of the current assignee appears. If there is no assignee for this shift, the name is blank. You can, however, see the next assignee for this shift. - Tap the name of the person assigned to the shift.
- Do one of these steps:
- Tap Write a message to send a text to this person by using Petal secure messaging.
- If the specialist lists a telephone number, use the number to call or to send an SMS.
